LegaHelps legal and privacy notice

California Notice at Collection

A concise notice about personal information collected through LegaHelps.

Categories collected

Identifiers and contact information; information about the legal matter; accident, injury, insurance, or police-report details when relevant; audio-derived conversation transcripts; consent records; lead source and referral information; and security-related technical records.

Purposes

The information is collected to operate the intake, identify and contact a potential lead, route the matter for review, preserve the conversation record, provide administrative tools, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

Sale and sharing

The supplied Privacy Policy states that LegaHelps does not sell personal information, while the supplied Terms state that participating law firms may compensate LegaHelps for leads. Counsel must reconcile and approve how California law characterizes these practices before public launch.

AI service provider disclosure

Lega uses OpenAI Realtime to process voice and text for intake. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models unless the customer expressly opts in. Realtime content may be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days by default. Counsel must approve this disclosure before publication.

Retention

Proposed periods are 30 days for abandoned drafts and abuse records, 90 days for unmatched or rejected leads, 365 days for submitted or accepted lead records, and active subscription plus no more than 90 days for Subscriber Case Data. Legal holds override deletion. See the Data Retention notice for the full proposed schedule.
